Who is Plavix for ?
Clopidogrel is used to reduce the risk of
stroke or heart attack. this medication is sometimes prescribed for
other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information. |
|
|
|
How does it work ?
Clopidogrel works by preventing excessive
blood clotting. It blocks a specific receptor, which in turn
prevents fibrinogen from binding at those receptors. Fibrinogen is
needed for a clot to form, and if it is not bound to its receptor,
there is a decreased chance for clots to form in that area. |
