Who is Orlistat for ?
Orlistat is approved for use in the treatment
of obesity. Orlistat should be used along with calorie restriction,
increased physical activity, and behavioral changes. |

When should I be careful taking Orlistat ?
Before taking Orlistat,
- tell your doctor if you have a
malabsorption syndrome or cholestasis
- tell your doctor if you have
hypersensitivity to Orlistat or medication
- Tell your doctor if you have diabetes,
hypothyroidism, gallbladder problems, or are anorexic or bulimic.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan
to become pregnant or are breast feeding. If you become pregnant
while taking Orlistat, call your doctor immediately.
- Tell your doctor and pharmacist what
prescription and nonprescription medications you are taking,
especially cyclosporin, drugs used to lower cholesterol, warfarin
(Coumadin), or Antidiabetic agents.

Orlistat Side Effects
Side effects are not common with Orlistat, but
may include;
- Gas
- Fecal urgency
- Fatty/oily stools
- Increased defecation
- Fecal incontinence
