Who is Nexium for ?

Esomeprazole is used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and in the treatment of ulcers that are caused by the bacteria, H. pylori. The drug may also be used to treat conditions where the stomach produces excessive amounts of acid.

When should I be careful taking Nexium ?

Tell your doctor if you are allergic to esomeprazole or any other drugs.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking esomeprazole, call your doctor.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist what prescription or non-prescription medications you are taking, especially diazepam (Valium), ketoconazole (Nizoral), iron-containing medicines (including vitamins), digoxin (Lanoxin).
