Who is Clenia for ?

Sodium sulfacetamide and sulfur cleanser is used to treat acne rosacea ("adult acne"), a chronic condition in which the facial skin is inflamed and sores develop. It decreases the redness and number of sores but may not be a cure. It is also used to treat other types of acne and dermatitis.

When should I be careful taking Clenia ?

Before taking sodium sulfacetamide and sulfur,

• tell your doctor if you are allergic to sodium sulfacetamide, sulfonamides, or sulfur.
• tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while using sodium sulfacetamide and sulfur, call your doctor.

Side Effects

Redness and irritation of the skin may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: cracked skin, rash. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: weakness, dark urine, yellowing eyes, fever, sun sensitivity (skin redness), easy bruising/bleeding. To minimize the chances of sun sensitivity, wear protective clothing as needed. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
