Who is Amevive for ?
Amevive is used in the treatment of adult
patients with moderate to severe chronic psoriasis who are
candidates for systemic (oral or IV) therapy or phototherapy. |
|
|
|
How does it work ?
How Amevive exactly works is not clearly
understood. Psoriasis is a disease in which the immune system plays
a key role and Amevive is thought to modify the immune response that
causes psoriasis. Specifically, Amevive may block specific system
cells known to trigger inflammation in the skin. This inflammation
is responsible for the development of psoriasis. |
